Connect with your natural rhythm of rest, and discover more of you

Did you know that Rest is our natural state?

Before all of the task lists, responsibilities, and information overload, before our nervous systems learned all this doing, there was simply...

being.

And this being can be quite peaceful, healing, and insightful if we can remember it at the root of our experience.

The good news is, you don't have to escape to the Himalayas to remember. My aim is to offer gentle mindset shifts and daily practices to help us reclaim the peace and stillness that is already at the center of our experience.

Fair warning: what you discover may ask you to shift and change your lifestyle from time to time, because we've largely learned to live in a society that's forgotten its center.

~

This class is great for you if:

  • you want to learn or deepen your practice of meditation and presence

  • you desire natural ways to balance mood, energy, and mental health

  • you desire to connect more with (and live from) your body, body wisdom, and emotions

  • you desire deeper connection with yourself and others

  • you simply feel excited, curious, or called to join

I create the space for you to hear your own voice and to feel your own heart...

What to expect

May aim is to immerse you in an experience of calm, care, depth, & connection.

Each session will follow a loose structure, allowing space for what the group truly needs to emerge.

We will begin by landing in the space, connecting with each other and sharing. I will offer a short lessen on our themes of rest, body, & intuition and invite you into a mindfulness practice to explore these themes in real time (bringing them into the body).

There may be a time for light movement, or I may share a song on my guitar. Bring your journal if you like to jot down insights and takeaways. May aim is to immerse you in an experience of calm, care, depth, and connection.

And I mean this wholeheartedly: come and be exactly as you are without any expectations. It is in this arriving where we find nourishment, not in showing up in any particular state.

From your Guide

Hi, I'm Jen, a Philly native, mindfulness meditation teacher and holistic health guide. I have been formally studying Mindfulness Meditation for 3+ years, and informally in my own experience for 7+ years.

Mindfulness Meditation is about arriving more fully in the present moment and deepening our capacity to be with what's already here. All the joy and sorrow and every magically mundane moment in between. It is not about achieving some far-off state but waking up into our human lives, exactly as they are.

My specific style of guided meditation is heart-centered and grounded in the body. We are so often prioritizing our intellect in the everyday human sphere, so meditation is a moment to pause and simply reconnect to these other innate centers of intelligence: our body and our heart.

As we integrate more heart and body into our lives, we are operating from more of our wholeness, and human life begins to feel more balanced, at ease, sensual, and alive.

Come join me for this season's class offering. If you have any questions at all, please reach out. I look forward to seeing where this winter series of self-care takes us.

xoxo,

Jen

Additional Info

Who is this for?

This series is great for anyone wanting to deepen presence, mindfulness, emotional attunement, nervous system care, connection with their body and intuition, and natural ways of healing and supporting mental health. You do not have to have any meditation/mindfulness experience to join. Your curiosity is welcome!

This is a queer and BIPOC-celebrating space. All religious experiences are welcome and encouraged to engage with the content.

This venue is accessible via a step-free entrance. If you have additional accessibility questions, please reach out.

Attendance

I recommend that you can attend at least 4 of the 6 weeks so that we can build familiarity with the group and benefit from the momentum each week carries.

What to bring?

We will provide several options for a cozy & centered practice including blankets, yoga mats, bolsters, and chairs. Don't worry, there is not a strict rule on how you meditate or move in this class. Come and be as you are. And wear comfy clothes!

Bring your journal or pad for writing/drawing. There will be space to write and reflect with guided prompts.

Water is available; bring your own water bottle to save on disposable cups.

Where is the meditation held?

We are meeting at 1233 Locust St., Philadelphia in a cozy yoga studio called Modern Mystic.  If no one is at the red doors to greet you when you arrive, please text/call me, and I will come let you in. > 267-616-4548
